Major Airlines versus Smaller Airlines
The down side to flying on small or regional Airlines is they do not have agreements with the major Airlines and in the event that their Flight is cancelled or delayed they have limited options for transferring your ticket over to another carrier. In contrast the major carriers who are part of the IATA group do have the ability known as Interline agreements to transfer you over to another major carrier, this will only happen in the event of irregular operations but does not limit you to their problems and consequently impacting your trip. So the next time you are tempted to save a few dollars Flying on one of these Smaller carriers be aware of this limitation.
