When your flight is delayed or cancelled due to weather the Airline is not responsible for any amenities or compensation, this means they are not obligated to give you Hotels, meals. transportation etc, their only obligation under these circumstances is to re book you on their next available flight, some Airlines will book you on their partner Airlines if routing you around the weather problem allows you to get to your final destination and you should ask them to afford you that opportunity.
These rules apply to domestic flights and not international or connecting cities, these scenarios are outlined under different rules.
